Obituary of Frank Martin Smith
Frank Martin Smith of Saint John, NB passed away peacefully at the Ridgewood Veterans Hospital on August 19, 2018 with family by his side. Born in Oromocto, NB on April 26, 1925, Frank was the son of the late Alphanso and Mary (Cogswell) Smith and the husband of the late Margaret (Wallace) Smith. After retiring from CP Rail, Frank spent the rest of his working years self-employed. Frank was a Veteran of the Artillery Demonstration Unit during WWII. He will be missed and fondly remembered by surviving sons; Gregory (Deborah) Smith of Grand Bay, NB and John Smith of Saint John, NB, daughter; Martha (Mark) Smith of Quispamsis, NB, grandchildren; Lauren and Victoria; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Frank was pre-deceased by brothers; Lewis Smith of Saint John, NB, Harold Smith of Pennfield, NB and Earl Smith of Saint John, NB, sister; Mable Johnson of Saint John, NB. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). A visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 22 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held from Castle Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 23 at 1 p.m, with a reception to follow at Castle.
