Obituary of Audrey W. Estabrooks
It is with sadness the family of Audrey W. Estabrooks announce her passing on June 17, 2018 at Carleton Kirk Lodge. Born on April 12, 1924 she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Louise (Ross) Campbell. Audrey was a true “West Sider” having been born and a resident there her entire life. She especially enjoyed her later years as a resident of the Carleton Kirk Complex where she formed many new friendships. Her favourite pastime was shopping and she always took great pride in how she presented herself. During the War Years, she worked at Manchester’s Tea Room. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing 45’s with Club Group and listening to country music. She was a long-time Parishioner of the former St. Jude’s Anglican Church, a Honorary Member of the R.C.L #2 for over 50 years (Ladies Auxiliary) She is survived by her daughter Lois Shaw (Gerry) and her grandchildren Brad (Heather) and Stacey Shaw. She was a loving “Grammy” to her precious great grandchildren, Julia and Ben Shaw. She also leaves to mourn sister Olive Estabrooks plus many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband William (Bill) Estabrooks, her daughter Barbara and her brother, Walter (Buster) Campbell. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the Staff of the Carleton Kirk Lodge and Dr. Ian Grant for their many acts of kindness shown to Audrey during her stay there. Much appreciation is also extended to her long-time Physician Dr. Brian Garland. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 11:00AM-1:30PM in Castle Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00PM in the Chapel. Interment will be held in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. A reception will follow at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center.
