Obituary of Yvonne Mary St.Cyr

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Yvonne St.Cyr announce her peaceful passing at the age of 76 on Monday May 7, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Yvonne was born on June 5, 1941 in Miramichi NB. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Babineau and Lizette (Benoit) Babineau. Yvonne moved to Pembroke Ontario at the age of 18 where she met the love of her life Romeo St. Cyr. After a whirlwind three month courtship they married, had a child, moved back to New Brunswick and continued to expand their family. Yvonne and Romeo built a close family of five children and taught them family values of love, honesty, independence and responsibility. Yvonne worked at Connors Brothers as a sardine packer for several years before beginning the full time responsibilities as a housewife and tending to the needs of her young family. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, travelling, camping, games of chance. Yvonne was a woman of high Christian devotion. Yvonne loved to do for others and in later years often donated her knitting talents with countless numbers of mittens, socks and blankets for those in need. Yvonne is survived by; daughters Henriette (Greg) Hull, Mary (Jean Guy) St.Cyr; sons Arthur (Dianne) St.Cyr and John (Karen) St.Cyr; grandchildren April Hull-Andrews, Robin Hull-Vautour, Holly Hull, Jeremy Romeo St.Cyr; and numerous great grandchildren. Yvonne is survived by one sister Shirley Parker (Vince) living in Alabama. Yvonne was predeceased by her husband Romeo, her baby daughter Marlene; brother Arthur (baby) and sisters Eunice, Agnus, Linda and Shirley Ann (baby). Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB (506)634-1701. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday May 10, 2018 at 11:00am from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Stella Maris Cemetery in Black Harbour, NB.
