Obituary of Jean Louise Wood
Jean Louise Wood passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 22nd 2019. Born in Saint John, NB on June 16th, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Anita (LeBlanc) Chipman and step-daughter to Stella (Smith) Chipman. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her son; Gary E. Wood of Martinon, daughters; Marilyn F. Kierstead of Quispamsis, Judith A. Wood of Grand Bay – Westfield, Beverly J. Munn (Reginald) of Salmon Arm, BC, Janice L. Osborne (Michael) of Grand Bay – Westfield, sister; Betty Porter of Saint John, 9 grand-children, 11 great grand-children, nieces and nephews. Jean was pre-deceased by her loving husband; Earl Wood and sister; Helen Chipman. Jean was a member of Westfield United and a life member of St. Giles United Church. She was also a life member of N.B Woman’s Institute and St. Giles UCW. Jean had a strong faith that she passed on to her family and friends. She spent many summers camping at Pine Cone Campground. She loved quilting, sewing, knitting, but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family. She was truly loved and respected by all who knew her, and will be missed dearly. Special thank you to the Home Care Workers and Staff at 5CN. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3. Visitation will be held at Castle Funeral Home on Sunday, December 29th, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at Castle Funeral Home, Fallsview Chapel on Monday, December 30th, 2019 at 11 AM. A reception will follow at Castle Funeral Home, Fallsview Reception Centre. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations in Jean’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
