Obituary of James Foley
James “Jim” Foley passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018 at Rocmaura Nursing Home after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born February 21, 1935 to the late James and Ellen Foley of Montreal, Jim will be dearly missed by his “Honey,” Helen Foley of Chance Harbour, and his son, Heath Foley of Rothesay. Jim was a terrific husband and father. He loved to spend summers travelling with Honey and Heath, visiting friends and family between Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick. He worked for Bell Canada as a cable repairman until his retirement in 1990. He was very active in the shooting sports and thoroughly enjoyed trap and skeet. In his younger years, Jim was also quite the avid hunter and outdoorsman. Jim was a kind and fun-loving man who often responded with the colorful phrase “One step ahead of the sheriff and the undertaker” when asked how he was doing. In addition to his wife, Honey, and son, Heath (Shari), “Granky” will be remembered with love by his granddaughter, Madison. His sisters, Joan and Ellen in B.C. will miss their only brother. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). As per Jim’s wishes, a Time of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Castle Funeral Home’s Fallsview Reception Center where food and refreshments will be served. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery will be private at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Rocmaura Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.Castlefh.com.
