Obituary of Constance D. Hitchcock

It is with heavy hearts the family of Constance Hitchcock announce her passing on August 8th 2018, at the Rocmaura Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of the late Ward Hitchcock. Born on March 20, 1921 in Saint John, to the late Francis and Gertrude (McFadden) Quilty. Connie will be dearly missed by her children; Walter Hitchcock (Janice), Paul Hitchcock (Stephanie), Lynne Mann (William), Maureen Vail, Kathleen McDonough (James), Elizabeth Delong (Wayne), sisters; Marion Oram (Cyril), Norma Forbes, daughter in-laws Carroll Hitchcock, brother in-law John Quigg, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, son David Hitchcock, brother Frances J. Quilty, and sisters; Mary Gertrude Quigg and Lynne McCarthy. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Rocmaura staff for their loving care of Connie. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John NB, E2M 2L3. 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held at Castle Funeral Home on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 3PM – 7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church on Saturday, August 11th 2018, at 10AM. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception at Hillcrest Baptist Church Hall will take place after burial. In lieu of flowers donations in Connie’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Rocmaura Nursing Home.
