Obituary of Marjorie Alice O’Toole
It’s with great sadness the family announces the passing of Marjorie Alice O’Toole which occurred on Wednesday, December 27th, 2017 at Bobby’s Hospice at the age of 96. Born in Saint John, on March 28th, 1921 she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Craft) Weaver. Mom worked in the office for T.S Simms for ten years after staying home and bringing up her five children. Mom was a great cook who entertained frequently. She belonged to a card group who were together over fifty years, Mom loved all card games but especially forty fives, crib and bridge. She loved to travel the world, and she also wintered in Florida several years and enjoyed her cottage at the Washadamoak. She was a volunteer on various committees at St. George’s Anglican Church and was the treasurer for several years for the Carleton Golden Oldies Seniors Club. Marjorie will be missed by her children: daughter Sharron Nicholson (David) and sons Doug O`Toole (Sandra), David O`Toole (Norah) and Alan O`Toole (Sandy), daughter in- law Ursula O’Toole, brother Donald Weaver and her 14 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Joe O’Toole, her son Ken O’Toole, her sister Joan Love and brothers; Harold, Fred, Ken, Norman Weaver. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Monday, January 1st 2018, from 2PM-8PM. A funeral service be held from Castle Fallsview Chapel on Tuesday, January 2nd 2018 at 2PM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Society, or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
