Obituary of Joseph Robert Bourgoin
Joseph Robert Bourgoin passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Bobby’s Hospice after a brief illness. Joe was born on September 15, 1982, in Saint John, NB, to Rodney and Judy (Powers) Bourgoin. Joe graduated from Harbour View High School’s first class in 2000. He then went on to take computer programming at NBCC. Shortly after graduating from NBCC, Joe started his career in programming with Caris (Teledyne Caris INC) in 2005 and his career took off from there. Joe was passionate about his job, which showed in his work; he was very talented and dedicated. His love for computers extended outside of work as well, Joe was a gamer and liked tinkering with computers in his spare time. Joe enjoyed his solidarity and being alone in nature. He was often found on the saddle of his mountain bike, navigating the trails through Fredericton. Joe liked the stillness and beauty of the wooded paths, and would often take pictures of the scenery. He also loved playing Magic: The Gathering with friends, he was an avid reader, and enjoying listening to music… as long as it wasn’t country! Joe treasured spending time with his family, especially at Christmas; it was his favourite time of year. Joe is survived by his parents Rodney and Judy, brother Patrick, paternal grandfather Enoil and maternal grandmother Agathe. He is predeceased by his paternal grandmother May Bourgoin and maternal grandfather Stillman Powers. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. In keeping with Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18th from 1:00PM-3:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM. A Private Family graveside service will be held at a later date in St. Augustine’s Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in Joe’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
