It is with sadness that I say goodbye to Aunt Velma, first born and last to go. I remember Aunt Velma being a strong but kind and fun role model during my childhood. She certainly had that Croft determination in her, that same determination was much in her voice when we spoke briefly after her recent hip replacement surgery. Her voice was strong and unwavering – just the person I remember. Her suffering is over and our loss has begun but she would not approve of much fuss. Think of all the gifts she gave everyone who knew her – love, strength, confidence, kindness and know that all those influences live within each of us and are a tribute to this great lady. Good night Aunt Velma, sleep well.
