Obituary of Norman Albert Nice
Norman Albert Nice passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Veterans Wing on Sunday, March 17, 2019. Born in Saint John, NB on June 20th, 1923, he was the son of the late Albert and Margaret (McAuley) Nice. Norman retired after 43 years as a Shipliner at the Port of Saint John and was a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his wife of 68 years, Maude née Braid, son; Wayne (Janet) of Fredericton, NB, grandchildren; Jason (Michelle) of Ottawa, ON, Adam (Marion Ann) of Victoria, BC, great-grandson; Andre. Along with his parents, Norman was pre-deceased by brothers; Gordon, Orlando, James, LeBaron, Burton, Firth, sisters; Millicent, Marjorie McDonald, Leah Norris, Betty Chapman. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. A visitation will take place at Castle funeral home on Tuesday, March 19 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a Legion Service at 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at Carleton Kirk United Church on Wednesday, March 20th, at 2 PM with a reception to follow at the church. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Norman’s memory can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or Heart & Stroke, or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be placed at www.castlefh.com
