Obituary of Audrey Winnifred McAllister
It is with great sadness the family of Audrey Winnifred (O’Neil) McAllister announces her passing on January 4th, 2019 at Embassy Hall. She was the loving wife of the late J. Lloyd McAllister (2003) for 54 years. Audrey was born on November 23, 1928 in Saint John, New Brunswick to the late Oscar M. and Maude (Carson) O’Neil. Audrey had a full life. She attended Vocational School and became a seamstress, going on to work at Singer Sewing Centre, MRA’s and Dominion Textiles. In 1949, Audrey married the love of her life, J. Lloyd McAllister at Victoria Street Baptist Church. Audrey spent the greater part of her life in Lorneville. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church and an adherent of Lorneville United Church. She was also past Mistress of “Potts” Lodge LOBA #669. Audrey was a sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays. Audrey loved her winters in Florida for many years. Most of all, she loved taking care of her family, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren Audrey will be dearly missed by her children; A. Darlene Pollock (Terrance), of Rothesay, Kevin McAllister (Sherry), of Rothesay, Keith McAllister of Saint John, Lana (Gary) Mott of Saint John, sisters; Marilyn McAllister of Saint John, Sandra (Paul) Gordon of Central Greenwich, sister in-law Melvina McAllister of Saint John, grandchildren; Brent Pollock (Sandra Gaj), of Toronto, Jillian Spencer (Myles), of Toronto, Corey McAllister (Tammy), of Saint John, Jennifer Allen (Chris),of Upperton, N.B., Andrew and Angela Mott, of Saint John, great grandchildren, Isabella, Rowan, Holly, Brooklyn, Lochlan, Jaxon, Elliott, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, infant son Paul Lloyd McAllister, sister Shirley McCarthy Stegmayer, brothers in-law; Beverly and Everett McAllister, Leonard McCarthy and Hank Stegmayer. A special Thank You to all the staff of Shannex Quispamsis for their excellent care and love for Audrey. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 7, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 8, 2019 at 11:00 am at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. A reception will follow in Castle “Fallsview” Reception Centre. Interment will take place in the spring at Lorneville Cemetery.
