Obituary of Frances Mary Mallett

Frances Mary Mallett passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, July 7, 2019. The daughter of the late Pat and Patricia (O’Holloran) Griffin, she was the last surviving member of her family. Frances was born in Elmsdale, PEI on November 21, 1938. Frances was a well-loved member of her West side community. She enjoyed socializing, playing cards and bingo, and had a passion for dancing and music. These activities were her time off from a hard days work. Frances spent many years employed as a supervisor at Kmart, and managed a motel in her later years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and cared greatly for her friends. She will be missed by son; Lorie (Penny) Mallett of Saint John, daughter; Wanda (Bill) Mintern of Quispamsis, grand-children; Alana, Kyle Mallett and Matthew, Melissa Mintern, several nieces and nephews and special friend, Raymond LeBlanc. Along with her parents, Frances was pre-deceased by her husband; Clarence Mallett, brother; John Griffin and sisters; Lorena MacWilliams and Marjorie Moran. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held from Castle Funeral Home, Fallsview Chapel on Wednesday July 10th from 4 PM to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church on Thursday, July 11th at 12 Noon with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will take place after at the Castle Fallsview Reception Centre. Donations in Frances’ memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
