Obituary of Daniel Edward Durdan
The death of Mr. Daniel Edward Durdan occurred peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the SJRH Palliative Care Unit with his son and sister by his side. Born on April 22, 1955 in Saint John, he was the son of Marion Louise Durdan (Flowers) and the late James Edward Durdan. Dan was a welder by trade completing his apprenticeship after graduating high school. In 1976 Dan joined the Ironworkers Union Local 842 and held Lifetime Member status. During his 44 years as an Ironworker, he had a hand in many large-scale construction projects such as the construction of the SJRH and the Point Lepreau refurbishment. Dan is survived by his son Ryan Durdan, his mother Marion Durdan, siblings Tina Durdan (Rheal), Ed Durdan (Joy) and his very special friend Cindi Clayton as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Dan is also survived by several lifelong friends who he held dear to his heart. Besides his father, Dan was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Keleher and infant brother Patrick Durdan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Per Dan's request cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
