Obituary of Paul Douglas Thibodeau

It is with great sadness the family of the late Paul "Gamar" Douglas Thibodeau announce his sudden death at the Saint John Regional Hospital, June 26, 2019. Born in Saint John, NB on October 06, 1954 to the late Carl and Betty (Bent) Thibodeau. Paul will be greatly missed by his family and the west side community. He worked from the age of 17 as a longshoreman, and could be seen during his time off at the local ballpark and rink. Always active, he would ride his bicycle on ‘secret trails’ and loved beachcombing for local treasures. Anyone in town had a chance to spot him; as he cruised his car 10 miles an hour throughout the west side. Along with his parents, Paul is pre-deceased by his brother; Michael Thibodeau, sister; Martha Duffy special father-in-law; Malcolm Campbell and special mother-in-law; T. Marie Campbell. He will be greatly missed by his childhood sweetheart and wife, Tina Thibodeau, brother; Terry Thibodeau, brother-in-law; Malcolm (Sue) Campbell, sister-in-law; Kelly-Anne (Paul) McKay, nephews; Troy, Matt, Justin, niece; Kristy, as well as several cousins and many friends. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held from Castle Funeral Home, Fallsview Chapel on Sunday June 30th from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 2nd at 12 noon. A reception will follow at Legion Branch #69. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Paul’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
