Obituary of Frank Edward Atherton

Frank Edward Atherton passed away peacefully at home, husband of the late Anne Elizabeth (Patterson) Atherton. He was born on August 25th, 1938 in Saint John NB, to the late Harold and Annie Pearl (Kierstead) Atherton. In Frank’s younger years he attended local schools in the Saint John area and graduated from Horton Academy in Wolfville, N.S. After graduating he went on to work in the family printing and stationery business for 35 years. Frank then joined the Castle Funeral Home family, working with them for the past 25 years. He will be dearly missed by his son; John Emery (Barbara Unan) of Toronto, Ont., daughter; Mary Pearl Miskulin of Cranbrook, BC and two grandchildren; Allie Elizabeth and Benjamin Louis of Cranbrook BC. Frank was a caring husband and father and he will be forever in our hearts. Frank is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and cousins. Frank is predeceased by his parents, wife, two brothers; Alfred William of Saint John NB, and Allan Harold and his wife Constance (Bissett) of Kars, NB. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 2nd from 2PM-4PM and 6PM- 8PM at Castle Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 3rd at 2PM in the Castle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery. A reception will follow at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Donations to River Cross Church, Palliative Care at the SJRH, Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
