Obituary of Adelbert Anderson
It is with sadness that the family of Adelbert “Andy” Anderson announce his passing on Thursday, March 07, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Andy was born in Saint John, NB on March 2, 1935. He was the son of the late Chesley and Beatrice (Dempsey) Anderson. He was the husband to Marie Bernadette “Betty” (Egloff) for 62 years. Andy worked as a carpenter at the DVA Hospital. After that he became the owner/operator of Andy’s Trophies. He was also a former Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Andy’s favorite pastimes were hunting, trapping and fishing. He was a member of the New Brunswick Cat and Coon Hunters Association, along with holding Executive Offices over several years. He was also a long time member of the NB Wildlife Federation. In addition to his wife Marie “Betty”, Andy is survived by his children; Charles (Linda) of Thunder Bay, ON, Danny (Patricia) of Saint John, NB, and Wendy (Tom) of Berwick, NS; 8 grand-children; 9 great grand-children; one brother; George of Saint John, NB, two sisters; Edythe of Truro, NS and Linda (Carl) of Saint John, NB; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Andy was pre-deceased by brothers; Roland and Carl, brother-in-law; Robert “Bob” Farquharson, sisters-in-law; Georgina and Ann. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. There will be no visitation. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances in Andy’s name can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
