Obituary of Marie Bernadette “Betty” Anderson

Marie Bernadette “Betty” (Egloff) Anderson of Saint John, NB passed away unexpectedly February 27, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born November 20, 1935 in Paris, France to the late Mathilda Egloff. In 1957, she moved to Canada with her husband Adelbert “Andy” settled in Nova Scotia, before becoming a long time resident of West Saint John in 1972. Betty worked for T.S Simms for a number of years before she was employed and retired from Centra Care in 1996 after 25+ years of service. Betty had a passion for cooking, enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting and weekly trips to the City Market, socializing with friends and neighbors and writing diligently to family in France. Betty had a love for all animals, she was a member of the Wildlife Federation and a lifetime member of the NB Cat and Coon Hunters Association. Survived by her children; Charles (Linda) of Nipigon, Ontario, Danny ( Patricia) of Saint John, NB and Wendy (Tom) of Berwick, NS, grandchildren; Amy, Keith, Jonathan, Melissa, Ashley, Scott, s. Samantha, Steven, and Cathy, great grandchildren; Nigel, Courtland, Terrence, Emma, Charlotte, Audrina, Bennett, s. Devin, Alex, Summer, Serena, and Aiden, brother Etienne Egloff of Metz, France, sisters in law Edythe Farquharsor, and Linda (Carl) Saulnier of Garnett Settlement, NB, brother in law George of Saint John, several cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Adelbert “Andy” (March 7, 2019). Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M2L3, 506-634-1701. There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances in Betty’s name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Wildlife Federation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
