Obituary of Phillip Edmund Greenlaw
Phillip Edmund Greenlaw aka ‘Greenlaw the Outlaw’ went to the Big Ranch in the Sky on February 19, 2019, from the Saint John Regional Hospital. Son of the late Clarence and Eleanor (Wilkins) Greenlaw, he was born April 07, 1941 in Digby, NS. During his working career he was a welder at CFM, Shipyard in B.C. and S.J., working on numerous projects across Canada. Philip was a cowboy. He enjoyed barrel racing, horses and rodeos. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his wife Shirley; exploring new places in their motorhome with Chopper the dog. He loved singing and jamming at Open Mic nights, meeting many new friends. Every morning at 7:30 A.M. you could find him enjoying a coffee at Tim Horton’s with his friends. Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, children; Phillip (Jackie), Chris (Teena), Jody (Tanya), Billy (Tanya), Alice (David), John (Melinda) all of Saint John, NB, and Leigh (Dana) of NS, sister; Louise (Stephen) Wade of NS and sister in law, Faye Greenlaw of Digby, NS, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. As well as his parents, he is pre-deceased by brothers; Paul and Irving Greenlaw. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John NB, E2M 2L3. 506-634-1701. A visitation will take place Thursday, February 21 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held from Castle Funeral Home Fallsview Chapel on Friday, February 22 at 1 pm with burial to take place directly after at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception to follow, downstairs at the Assumption Centre to celebrate Greenlaw the Outlaw’s life. Be sure to bring your voices and instruments. For those who wish, donations in Phillip’s honor can be made to the Westside Saint John Food Bank, Sistema NB, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
