Obituary of Beverley Rose Oagles

It is with great sadness the family of Beverley Rose Oagles, widow of James H. Oagles wish to announce her passing at home surrounded by her beloved family on Thursday May 17, 2018. Born in Saint John in 1926 to Daniel A. and May Pansy (Mealey) McLaughlin, Beverley was very active in Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years, she was involved with the Harmony Club, Meals on wheels, and was a dedicated volunteer at the old General Hospital. Beverley is survived by one son, James (Marilyn) Oagles, of Grandbay- Westfield, one daughter Linda (Art) Morris, of Grandbay-Westfiled, two brothers, Roy McLaughlin, and Murray McLaughlin, both of Saint John, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Beverley was predeceased by her parents Daniel and May Pansy McLaughlin, her beloved husband James H. Oagles, her daughter Sharon Hatfield, brothers, Roger McLaughlin, sister-in-law Marjorie McLaughlin, Donald McLaughlin, and sister Pauline Girourd. Castle Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John (634- 1701) has been entrusted with the arrangements. At Beverley’s request cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held Monday May 21, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8pm. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 1:00pm. A reception will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church following the service. Interment will take place in Oceanview Memorial Gardens at a later date.
