Obituary of Eveline LeBlanc
Eveline LeBlanc passed with peace and grace on November 29th, her loving family at her side. Eveline entered this world on March 8, 1911 to Joseph and Marie Daigle in St. Louis de Kent, New Brunswick. She moved to Saint John as a young woman and married Vital (John) LeBlanc in 1934. They were married 65 years before he passed away in 1999 after a loving and dedicated marriage. Eveline lived an amazing 107 years and was adored by everyone, an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. She lived in West Saint John until her 96th year and was an active and devout member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish. Eveline was known for her angel spirit, a happy person who loved people and had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She was always up for a walk, a game of cards or visits from friends. She was blessed with good health and a good memory into old age. Since the age of 102 she resided in Rocmaura Nursing Home where, in the face of physical adversity, she endured trials and tribulations with humor and grace. She inspired family and friends with her attitude of gratitude, deep faith and determination to remain as independent as possible. She is survived by her children: Rose Ferguson, Doris Gagnon Miller (Gordon), Donald LeBlanc (Eunice), Jeanette Hebert (Paul), Arlene Northrup (Dawson) and Lynne Couture Watson (Brice), 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, brothers: Arthur, Albert, Father Louis, Edouard, Emile and Josephat and her sisters: Louise, Florence, Aline and Sister Jeanne and her sons-in-laws: Vianney Ferguson, Nazaire Gagnon and Robert Couture. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5th from 2PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon at Our Lady of Assumption Church on Thurs., December 6, 2018. Burial will take place at Holy Cross cemetery with a reception to follow at the Assumption Centre. A special thank you from her family to Rocmaura Nursing Home Staff for the years of fantastic care. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Rocmaura Foundation or charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.
