Obituary of Shirley Anne McNaughton
It is with heavy hearts the family of Shirley Anne McNaughton announce her passing on Sunday evening, September 23rd surrounded by family at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Shirley was born on October 5th, 1933 to the late John and Audrey (Maher) Arseneau. Shirley spent her career working as an insurance underwriter for Royal Insurance Company. She was a very active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Shirley enjoyed spending time reading and knitting, she also was an avid bowler. Shirley will be dearly missed by her children; Michael McNaughton of Moncton, Pam Murray and Wanda McNaughton of Saint John, brother Donald Arseneau of Nova Scotia, sister Edith Watkins of Ontario, six grandchildren; Joy Anna Mitchell, John Murray, Neil McNaughton, Sarah McDonald, Nathan McNaughton and Myra McNaughton, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband William W. McNaughton, children Debra McNaughton, Robert McNaughton, Cheryl McNaughton and Wendy McNaughton, brother Leroy Arseneau, sisters Katherine Day, and Bernice Douthwright. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3. (506)634-1701. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 7:00PM-9:00PM. A Memorial service will be held in Castle Chapel on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 1:00PM. A Reception will take place in Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to St. Vincent’s Alumnae Association.
