Obituary of Daniel Leonard Dignard
It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Daniel Leonard Dignard wish to announce his passing on August 27, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Saint John in 1952 he was a son of the late Mederic Joseph and Marie Melvina (LeBreton) Dignard. Daniel had a quick dry wit and a very good memory, always current with world affairs .He was a self taught guitarist and in his earlier years would entertain family and friends with his beautiful voice. The love of his life was his only child Tracy. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Patrick) Naves, of Saint John, N.B., two brothers Timothy (Judy) Dignard, of Moncton, N.B., Murray Dignard, four sisters, Gloria Ernst, Lauraine Dignard, Florence (Jack) Freeze, and Isabel Dignard, all of Saint John, N.B., two grandsons, Tyler and Tyson Naves, special niece, Samantha Dignard, and Daniel’s chosen 2 nd family and caregiver Bonnie Thibodeau, all of Saint John, N.B. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Gerard Dignard, and Marcel Dignard, and infant sister Ledwin Dignard. Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634-1701) have been entrusted with the arrangements. Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Friday August 31, 2018 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. A Memorial service will take place at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel at 2:30 pm Friday August 31, 2018.Following the services a reception will be held at his sister`s home. Donations to the Westside Food Bank, N.B.Mental Health Assoc., or the S.J.R.H. Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
