Obituary of Edward William Jacques
It is with great sadness that the family of Edward William Jacques announces his passing on August 9, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with illness and his sister Kim was by his side. Edward was born on October 27, 1948 in Saint John, NB to the late Edward and Gertrude (Lyon) Jacques. He grew up in Chance Harbour with his 5 siblings before moving to the Westside. Edward was a true outdoors man, he loved fishing, picking dulse in the bay, hunting deer and being with nature. He also enjoyed playing crib and going for walks around his neighbourhood on the westside. Edward is survived by his daughters; Susan and Trudy, sisters; Kim Jacques, Laura Patterson (Malcolm), Susan Jacques (Phil Thompson), and Donna Jacques, brother John Jacques (Sharon), 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, daughter Lucinda and granddaughter Carolyn. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 12:00 Noon- 2:00 PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations in Edward’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
