Obituary of Diane Marie Desjardins

It is with great sadness that the family of Diane Marie Desjardins announces her passing after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s on October 9, 2017 at the age of 63. Diane was a successful psychologist working within several institutions in the Saint John area, while operating a private practice. She found immense pleasure in helping others, and will be remembered as a kind, compassionate and very caring lady. She was a very athletic person who enjoyed hiking, running, racquetball, camping and exploring with her closest friends. Diane will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Karen Hartford (Scott)of Southington, CT and Lisa Desjardins of Moncton, NB; brother Tom Desjardins (Debbie) of Grand Falls, NB; nieces Christina Callaghan, Lisa Hartford and Jacinta Beaulieu; nephews Justin Hartford and Robby Desjardins. Diane was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Joyce Desjardins, and brother Robert (Bob) Desjardins. The family wishes to extend a very special thanks to Charlene Warden. Her help and selflessness was greatly appreciated over the last years of her struggle with Alzheimer’s. Thank you to the staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home for years of love, respect and care. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 11:00AM – 1:00PM. Funeral Service will follow Visitation at Castle Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00PM. A reception will follow at Castle “Fallsview” Reception center. Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery, in Grand Falls, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Rocmaura Nursing Home, or charity of donor’s choice.
