Obituary of Margaret Evelyn Tufts

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Evelyn Tufts announces her passing on Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 at the age of 97, just shy of her 98th birthday, at Embassy Hall, Shannex Parkland. Evelyn was born on March 19, 1923 in Saint John, NB to the late John G. and Margaret (Robinson) Bosfet. Evelyn spent most of her life in Saint John. She moved to Gondola Point in May of 1990. Evelyn was a proud associate of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69, and a past member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Evelyn will be lovingly missed and forever remembered by her children: Judy (Bill) MacDonald of Dartmouth, NS; Bruce (Donna) Tufts, Nancy (Dan) Splane and Barbara (Geoff) Ferguson; grandchildren: Lindsay (Nick) Richard, NS , Brent (Lori) MacDonald, AB , Natalie (Tyler) Richard, NS, Jennifer (Chris) Knorr, Jeremy (Jennifer) Splane, Jeffrey(Lyndsay) Tufts, Meghan Tufts, Tyler (Melanie) Ferguson and Mitchell (Merina) Ferguson; great grandchildren: Easton, Taylor, Cohen, Lauren, Jack, Emma and Owen; sister: Hilda (Bill) McDonald of New River Beach and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her cherished husband, Norman M. Tufts, sister: Vivian, brothers: Alfred, Ronnie and Jimmy, grandson: Cole Ferguson and great grandson: Damien Knorr. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held from Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:00AM. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend, a link to the live-stream will be located on Evelyn’s obituary page. Interment will take place in spring 2021 in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com.
