Obituary of George Kenneth James
George Kenneth "Jamie" James It is with heavy hearts the family of George Kenneth “Jamie” James announce his passing on Thursday, March 19th at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Jamie was born on July 30, 1961 to the late George Arthur James and Irene (Steen) James in Saint John, NB. Jamie was better known as Birdman or Birdie, and was employed with Simpson Scrap Metal, He was very proud of working for the Simpson family and their employees were very dear to him. Previous to that he spent many years working with his father and brothers Dwayne and Jeff building the family business James Towing. Jamie was an avid tinkerer who loved to help anyone and could fix anything.He was a keen outdoorsman, he was the Director of Musquash ATV Club and was in his element while riding his side by side, he loved hunting and fishing, his happy places were Cluster Lane, and the Belleisle. Jamie also enjoyed Nascar, he looked forward to travelling to New Hampshire with his dad George, and brother Jeff and family and friends to watch his favorites Dale Sr. and Dale Jr and as was his way, made some special American friends in the process. He played hockey and was a goaltender starting in Lancaster minor hockey all the way up to the Centennial league. Jamie also took his job as the eldest James brother seriously, he was the best brother and uncle to his nieces and nephews, and they loved him for all his craziness. Jamie was always up for a party. Jamie will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Barbara (Pomeroy) James, his mother, Irene (Steen) James, brothers; Dwayne (Anna), Kevin (Shirley), and Jeff (Kelly), step children, Toni Lively and Jamie Lively, 4 step grandchildren, Richard, Brisyn, Braidy, and James Lively. Nephew Cory Calvin of whom he was guardian. Nieces and nephews, Ryan, Megan (Zachary), Kaitlyn (Goddaughter), Matthew, Taylor, Shannon, Jenna and Riley. Father and Mother In Law Gary and Maybelle Pomeroy. Brother and Sister In Law's, John and Peggy, Susan and Wes, Stephen and Patty and Neil and Stacey. He is predeceased by his Father, George Arthur James, and sister- in-law Michelle, and many uncles and aunts. Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John NB, E2M 2L3. 506-634-1701 have been entrusted with the arrangements. Cremation has taken place. A Private Memorial Service will be held in Castle "Fallsview" Chapel. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
