Obituary of Mary Jane Wetmore
After a hard fought courageous battle with cancer it is with great sadness the family of Mary Jane Wetmore, widow of Douglas J. Wetmore wish to announce her passing at Bobby’s Hospice on Friday, July 20, 2018 with her beloved family by her side. Born October 14th, 1942 in Saint John, NB she was a daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Louisa (Caissie) Boudreau. Mary Jane worked for Scotiabank for 25 years, she then retired with Doug to their cottage on Bernie’s Lake where, they made lots of wonderful memories with their precious family and friends. Mary Jane was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a kind hearted soul, to know her was to love her. Mary Jane enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren who were her everything. Mary Jane is survived by her son, Douglas Jr. (Kim) Wetmore, of Grand Bay - Westfield, her daughter, Wendy (Joseph) Vautour, of Saint John, one brother, Francis Boudreau, of Rothesay, two sisters, Marjorie Given, of Saint John, Juliette (Clarence) Nickerson, of Ontario, four Grandchildren, Ashley and Lindsay Vautour, of Saint John, Kaitlynn Wetmore, of Calgary, and Christopher Wetmore, of Grand Bay - Westfield, several nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was predeceased by her husband, Douglas J. Wetmore, brother, Ronald Boudreau, sisters, Patricia Gallant, Joan Gallant and her husband Patrick Gallant, sister Hazel Burnett, and sister in law Barb Boudreau. Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701) have been entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will take place on Tuesday July 24, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 12:00 o’clock. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will be held following the interment at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society, Bobby’s Hospice, or the Assumption Building Fund would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
