Obituary of Phyllis Blanche Palmer
It is with great sadness that the family of Phyllis Blanche (Coughlin) Palmer announce her passing on October 9th 2018. Born on July 20, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Ada and Channing Coughlin. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 51 years Russell, two children; Stephen (Jennifer) and Cheryl (John), 5 grandchildren; Stephen, Ashley, Samantha, Benjamin and Melissa and one great grandson Hunter. She is also survived by her brother Ivan (Betty), sister in law Norma Ford, brother in laws Sydney (Shelia) Palmer and David Palmer, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Betty Klim. Phyllis spent her working career at the Westside Co-op, retiring in 1987. She spent her summers at her favorite place, trailering at Wally’s Campground. She loved spending time with her summer family. Phyllis was also an active member at Legion Branch 69 holding many positions over the years on the executive. She loved playing darts with her team (Misfits) for over 30 years. Our family would like to thank the nursing staff and Doctors of 4CN for their support and caring of our loved one. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M2L3. (506)634-1701. As per Phyllis’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Legion Branch 69 on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Phyllis’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Ridgewood Veterans Fund or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com.
