Obituary of Ellen M. Bishop
With great sadness the family of Ellen Bishop (loving wife of the late George Bishop) announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, April 22, 2019. Ellen was born on February 6, 1923, in Bexleyheath, England. She came to Canada in 1945 as a war bride. She arrived with a young daughter to await the arrival home of her solider husband. Ellen will be lovingly remembered by her sons; Murray (Carolyn) of Hamilton, ON; Terry (Janet deceased) of Grand Bay-Westfield; 3 grandchildren Terry (Kristi), Greg (Anita), and Jennifer Kinsman (Josh) all of Hamilton, ON. As well as her 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Ellen was predeceased by her parents James and Clara (Gardner) Elmes; husband; and daughter Maureen. Thank you to the Palliative Care Unit and the Oncology Department at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the way they lovingly cared for our Mother. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB, E2M2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 10:00AM- 11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Service in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. A Reception will follow at the “Fallsview” Reception Centre. Private family interment will take place at a later date in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com.
