Obituary of Helen Alice Evans
The family of Helen Alice Evans (Estey) announce her passing on Saturday, February 02, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Helen was born on August 1st 1934, in Saint John, NB to the late Cecil and Doris (Andrews) Estey. Helen was a lifelong resident of Saint John’s west side. Upon completing her education at Saint John Vocational School, Helen worked at Simms until her marriage. Helen loved fashion, dressing up and feeling pretty. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed swimming at the Aquatic Centre. Helen will be missed by her two sons; Peter Evans of Edmonton, AB, and Keith Evans, of Saint John, and her two daughters; Angela Howlett (Scott Humphrey), and Terri Moore (Glen), of Saint John, sisters; Eileen Hunter Dow (Ron) and Joyce Larson, of Saint John, grandchildren; Kristin and Morgin Howlett and Melissa Gauthier, one great grandchild Landin Galletta; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Eldon Evans (1992), son in-law Joe Howlett, and brother in-law Whitfield Larson. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 04, 2019 from 2:00PM-4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM. A Private Family graveside service will be held at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
