Obituary of Geraldine Marie McFadyen

It is with heavy hearts the family of Geraldine Marie McFadyen announce her passing on Monday April 27, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 22, 1933 in Shediac, NB to the late Alyre and Rose-Anna (Bourque) Belliveau. Geraldine was a gentle person, who enjoyed cooking and baking, quilting, knitting and sewing for her family, friends and community. She knitted hats and mitts and donated them to the Empty Stocking Fund and St. Vincent de Paul Society. Geraldine canvassed for the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation for many years. She loved to spend time at the family trailer in Shediac, NB. She was a woman of faith and a long-time member of St. Rose Church and then later attended the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception for many years. Geraldine is survived by three sons, Gary (Denise) McFadyen, Claude McFadyen both of Saint John, NB and Randy (Kirsti) McFadyen of Paradise, NFLD. Two daughters Deborah “Debbie” McNutt and Carolyn (Tom) Booth, both of Saint John. Two brothers, Paul (Joy) Belliveau and Clarence (Doreen) Belliveau, both of Shediac, NB. Six grandchildren, Jeffrey McFadyen of Edmonton, AB, Jillian McFadyen of Calgary, AB, Andrew and Ryan Booth, both of Saint John, NB, Ally and Iain McFadyen, both of Paradise, NFLD, several nieces and nephews. Geraldine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Orval Hillard McFadyen in 1985, two brothers, Isodore Belliveau, Romeo Belliveau and two sisters, Claudia Landry and Marguerite Leger. Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB (634 1701) have been entrusted with the arrangements. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial mass will be held at the Cathedral on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, with a reception afterwards at Castle Funeral Home. *Please be advised due to Covid-19 only 50 visitors are allowed to attend the reception.* Donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor`s choice.
