Obituary of Thelma Innis
It is with heavy hearts the family of Thelma Innis announce her passing, which occurred May 12, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born January 7th, 1924 in Westfield, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mae (Hurlbert) Blagdon. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband Daniel Innis, siblings; Ronald Blagdon, John Blagdon, Vivian Chilvers and Olive Kelly. Thelma lived her whole life in Westfield and was happy to call it home. She was a life member of the Nerepis Womens Institute, which she belonged to for over 25 years. Thelma volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Foundation. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and loved to cook for family and friends. She always had the teapot ready with some homemade treats. Thelma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. Her family was most important to her. In their retirement years, she and Danny enjoyed traveling, camping and site seeing, but she was always happy to return home. Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her family; daughter Linda, son Richard (Elna), brother; Gordon Blagdon (Helen) grandchildren; Ben, Adam, (Joanna), Alex Langille, Jessica, Krista (Justin) Innis, Great grandchildren; Grace and Jackson Langille, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of 3CS at the SJRH with special thanks to nurses, Melanie and Allison. Thank you to the staff of Turnbull Nursing Home for their loving care and kindness. A special heart felt thank you to Suzanne MacFarlane and Mel Barrett, who always brightened her day. Arrangements under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, N.B. 506-634-1701. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 23rd at 2PM in Castle Funeral Home Chapel. A reception take place after the service at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Grand Bay - Westfield.
