Obituary of James Edward Humphrey

It is with great sadness that the family of James Edward Humphrey announce his passing on Tuesday April 28, 2020 at his residence. Born in Saint John on November 4, 1937, Jim was a son of the late Thomas Stanley and Alice Irene (McHarg) Humphrey. Jim spent his Career as a Checker with the Port of Saint John, he was a member of the ILA local 273. He was an avid life long fisherman. Jim was a kind, generous, loving, easy going man who deeply loved his family. He now rests in the Lords great landing net. Jim is survived by his beloved children, Mary Theresa (Gordon) Ferris, of Quispamsis, James “Jamie” Edward Humphrey, and Janice Elizabeth Ann Humphrey both of Saint John, two grandchildren, Chelsea Ferris (Brett Langis), of Quispamsis, and Josh Ferris , of Saint John, two great grandchildren, Mason and Avery Langis, both of Quispamsis, several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his wife, Jean Hillary (Rogers) Humphrey, two brothers, William, and Stanley, and two sisters, Eleanor, and baby Mary in infancy. Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701) have been entrusted with the arrangements. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19, a Celebration of Jim’s life will be announced at a later date. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
