Obituary of Gwen Y. Henderson

It’s with heavy hearts the family of Gwen Y. Henderson announce her passing on August 30th, 2018 surrounded by her family at Shannex Embassy Hall. Gwen was born on October 13th, 1940 in Saint John to Sylvia (Campbell) Boyd. She has been retired for many years from working as a bank teller at the Bank of Montreal and Bank of Nova Scotia. Gwen was an avid sports fan, particularly curling, tennis and figure skating. In her spare time she enjoyed working on 1500+ piece jigsaw puzzles, reading Harlequin romance novels and most of all she loved spending time with her loved ones. Gwen will be dearly missed by her son Neal (Paula) Henderson, brothers Ralph (Darlene) Boyd, Errol “Bud” (Starr) Boyd, sisters Shirley Teller, Donna Lawrence and Cheryl Boyd, two grandchildren Jamie and Ryan, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Sylvia, sister Marilyn Kennedy and brother in law Ned Kennedy. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Shannex Embassy Hall for all the care and compassion given to Gwen during her time there. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John NB, E2M2L3. 506-634-1701. A Private family interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
