Obituary of Peter James Edward Wilkinson

It is with broken hearts that the family of Peter James Edward Wilkinson announce his passing at Bobby’s Hospice on January 1, 2020. Peter was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on April 1, 1965 to (late) Betty Lake and the man he called Dad, (late) Herbert Sanderson. Peter loved his family with all his heart, he was a good man and had a big heart. He also loved the Toronto Maple Leafs. Peter had a great sense of humor and maintained it throughout his journey to the very end. Peter worked various jobs over the years, the latest as a contractor with the Telegraph Journal. He leaves behind his beloved son PJ Lynch (Christina), grandchildren; MacKenzie, Michael, Carter, Kobe and Klarie. His siblings Kathy Riley (Pat), Connie Wilkinson, Marty Sanderson (Denise), Stacey Perry (Alfie), special friend Sue Barwell (her sons Chris and Josh), and the mother of his son Jeanie Lynch. Peter also leaves behind uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends whom all loved him dearly. A special mention to Uncle “Boo” for always being a father figure to Peter. Samantha and Odessa, Pete always loved you and held you close to his heart; he wanted you to know that. The family would like to thank the Extra Mural Program and Bobby’s Hospice for their care and compassion given to Peter, you are all special people. Resting at Castle Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 7th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel at 1:30 PM. Interment will take place at a later date. As per Peter’s wishes please attend the service in a Toronto Maple Leaf’s jersey. The family would like to invite you to attend a benefit in Peter’s memory on Saturday, January 4th, 2019 at 8:00 PM at the Pub Down Under.
