Obituary of Roger Blair Lomax
Roger Blair Lomax was called home to meet his heavenly father on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. Born August 3rd, 1946 in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late Hazen and Isabel (Cogswell) Lomax. Roger lived the majority of his life in Lepreau, NB. He leaves behind a family faced with unmeasurable loss and sorrow, but blessed, to have had him for a lifetime of happiness and joy. Roger was a social butterfly. Everywhere he went he made new friends. He had a way of reaching out to people and making them feel welcome. Through his 12 year struggle with his health; including dialysis and being a kidney recipient, he remained his upbeat self. Talking and entertaining the nurses was part of his treatment and recovery. As much as he liked to socialize he also enjoyed working, and always kept busy with the family’s clam factory. Roger was devoted to his faith and church family. He was exceptionally kind hearted and would do without to give to someone in need. In addition to his parents, Roger was pre-deceased by his brother; Kevin. Roger leaves behind his devoted wife of 52 years, Dora (Landry) Lomax, son; Patrick (Tracy) Lomax, daughter; Nicole (Terry) Miller, brothers; Calvin (Sherry) Lomax, Steven Lomax, sisters; Linda Wilson, Susan (Raymond) Henry, Dora June (Johnny) Belliveau, grand-children; Karlee and Jayden, step grand-daughter; Katelyn, great grand-daughter; Violet. For their exceptional care, the family wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital, and family Doctor Ginette Griffin. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB 506-634-1701. A visitation will take place at the Bethany Independent Baptist Church in Little Lepreau on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held from Bethany Independent Baptist Church on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11 AM with burial to take place at Little Lepreau Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church following interment. Donations in Roger’s memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation, Little Lepreau Cemetery or the Bethany Independent Baptist Church.
