Obituary of Emelda Mary Comeau
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Emelda Mary (Arseneau) Comeau announces her passing on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Emelda was the loving wife to the late Dolor Comeau. She was born on November 15, 1929 in Six Road, NB to the late Arthur and Alexina (Noel) Arseneau in a family of 17 children. Emelda worked for several years at the DVA Hospital in the dietary department. In her later years she developed a love for crocheting and went on to sell her creations at the Saint John City Market for many years. Emelda had many fond memories with her husband over the years, they travelled, bowled and belonged to a Seniors Club where they enjoyed getting together and dressing up for Halloween. She truly loved being around friends and family, and she always loved big family reunions. Emelda also loved playing cards, listening to country music and singing. Emelda will be dearly missed by all her friends and family, she truly brought light to all their lives. She is survived by: her son Christopher (Emelda) Comeau, siblings; Patrice Arseneau (Josie), Lucien Arseneau, Elie Arseneau, Patricia Robichaud (Gaspard), Georgette Boudreau, Leona Crandlemere, Fabiola Dechamplain (Alfred), Angelina Dempsey (Joe), Noella Blanchard (Eddie), Marie Marthe Pedneault (Jean Paul) and Gloria Areseneau, and many nieces and nephews. Emelda will be dearly missed by all her friends and family, she truly brought light to all their lives. She is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Alexina, husband Dolor, siblings; Albenie Arseneau, Ludger Arseneau, Leo Arseneau, Edmond Arseneau and Jeanette Boudreau, brothers in laws; Jean Louis Boudreau, and Harold Crandlemere, sister in law Suzanna Arseneau, Amedee Boudreau, and Vanessa Arseneau. The family wishes to thank Shannex Parkland, 3CS and the Pallative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for all the love and care given to Emelda during her time there. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 8th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church on Monday, March 9th at 12:00 Noon. A Reception will follow Mass at the Assumption Centre. Interment will take place on Tuesday, March 10th at 11:00 AM in Holy Cross Cemetery.
