Obituary of Clement Etienne LeBlanc

It is with a heavy and broken heart that the family of Clement (Clem) LeBlanc sadly announce his passing on March 1, 2020 at the age of 79. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Helen (Kearley) LeBlanc, daughters, Lisa (Eric) Almon of Saint John and Kimberly (Lorne) Wiesenfeld of Ottawa, 4 grandchildren, Evan, Scott, Bradley and Samantha and siblings, Real, Germain, Mado and Claire, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Gerard and Marguerite Marie (Bibeau) LeBlanc, brother Michael LeBlanc, sister Lise LeBlanc and his “second” mother Julie (Barrett) Kearley. Clem was born on October 15, 1941 in Amos, Quebec. He was a great sports enthusiast and especially loved playing hockey. His second passion was flying and he became a Royal Canadian Air Force navigator (1961). The Air Force led him to Newfoundland where he met the love of his life (Helen) and they married in 1965. His post Air Force career included several finance institutions. An inspiration to his children, he returned to University and obtained his accounting designation, ending his career at Revenue Canada. Post retirement he enjoyed traveling the globe with Helen. As he was an avid stamp collector he would always mail himself a postcard from everywhere he went. Over the years he was an active a member of the Richelieu club and the Knights of Columbus. Clem had a love of education and knowledge and passed this love onto his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his loving heart and wonderful sense of humor. The family would like to thank the oncology team at the Saint John Regional Hospital, the heart function clinic (especially Dr. Bewick and Jane Aucoin), Dr. MacNeil and the extramural care team for all of their kindness and support. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 6th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held from Castle “Fallsview” Chapel on Saturday, March 7th at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at a later date.
