Obituary of Arthur Frank Watson

It is heavy hearts that the family of Arthur “Art” Frank Watson, announce his passing on Wednesday, January 16th 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Art was born on November 28th, 1948 to the late Charles and Marion (Mercier) Watson in Saint John, NB. Art graduated from Saint John Voacational High School in 1966. Soon after, he started his career in Sales which spanned over 40 years. Art received many awards and accolades throughout his career including: Top Salesperson for Atlantic Canada in 1995 for Konica Minolta. Art was outgoing and a true people person. When he wasn’t working, Art liked to have a good time socializing with family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved sports and spent countless hours at ballfields, hockey rinks and school gymnasiums around New Brunswick watching his kids and grandkids play hockey, baseball, basketball and football. Art enjoyed travelling particularly to all-inclusive destinations. He loved seafood. Lobster was his favorite. He loved cold beer with clamato juice and Drambuie for an after-dinner drink. Art was a dedicated volunteer for many years with various Minor Hockey, Baseball and Softball Associations. He was inducted into the South Nelson Softball Hall of Fame as a “Builder” for his volunteer work. Art will be dearly missed by his loving wife Sharon (Woods) Watson, children; Michael (Crystal) and Lisa Armstrong (Tyler), brother Ralph Watson, sisters; Sandra Forgrave, Norma Blizzard (Jimmy), Francis Collins, Barb Campbell and Dorothy “Dot” Strang, grandchildren; Lauren Armstrong, Seth Armstrong, Brayden Watson, Colton Watson, Lara Watson, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers; Billy, Ray, Brian and Donnie Watson, sisters; Joyce and Bernice Watson, brothers-in-law; Jimmy Campbell, Paul Forgrave, Herbie Collins and Don Strang. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21st from 4:00PM-8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will be held in the spring at St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery in Miramichi.
