Obituary of Sandra Dawn Gifford

Sandra Dawn (Jackson) Gifford passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 23rd after a brief battle with illness. Sandra was born on September 30th, 1944 to the late Eric and Audrey (Logan) Jackson in Saint John, NB. Sandra lived every day to the fullest, surrounded by those she loved. She was the most-kind hearted and good person you could ever meet. Sandra enjoyed doing charity work over the years with her husband Mike, they also ran the Milford Community Centre. She was the president of the community centre for 19 years. Sandra loved bargain hunting, music and her music room. She was a DJ for many years on Pal Talk with Mike. Sandra also adored feeding “her deer”, she has been taking care of the same ones for the last 13 years, they loved her and she them. Sandra will be dearly missed by her husband Mike, children; Sherry (Darrell) Blanchard, Wendy (Dave) McKinnion, Joe (Terrie) Gifford, and Mike E. (Rochell) Gifford, grandchildren; Theresa Blanchard, Ashley Blanchard, Michael Gifford, Tiffany Gifford, Eric Gifford, and Charlie Godsoe, great grandchildren; Clara Rose Little, Ella-Mae Regular, Leah Belliveau, Jemma Jones and Rowen Gifford, sister Carol Olton, niece Linda (Duncan) Ripley, nephew Kevin (Robin) Olton and beloved dog Boo Boo. She is predeceased by her parents and children; Heidi and William Gifford. The family would like to thank Robert Melanson, a dear family friend who was faithful in taking care of Sandra; Faye and Carrie, Sandra’s home care workers for being so kind; and a big thank you to Extra Mural for keeping Sandra comfortable and making the last few months easier on her and the family. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in Sandra’s memory can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
