Obituary of Charles Smith
It is with heavy hearts the family of Charles (Neddie) Smith announce his passing on May 18th 2018, at the SJRH. He was the loving husband, best friend and soulmate of Shelia (Mackay) Smith for 42 years. Charles was born on Feburary 14th, 1940 to the late Everett Carl and Mary Margaret (Morris) Smith. Charles was a mason by trade, a longshoreman ILA 273 and crane operator at the sugar refinery. In his retirement he enjoyed spending his time boating and snow mobiling. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Charles was a loving man who had a passion for his children and grandchildren. He was a long time west-sider. He will be dearly missed by his wife, and children; Karen Smith (Mike) of Millcove, NB, Randal Smith of Elgin, NB, Shaughn Smith (Angie) of Saint John, Charles Smith (Angela) of Saint John, and 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several cousins. Charles is predeceased by his parents and daughter Brenda Smith. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). As per Charles’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
