Obituary of Nina Evelyn Tivendale
It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Nina Evelyn Tivendale on March 9th,2018, at the age of 85. She was residing at the Dr. VA Snow Center in Hampton N.B. Nina was the wife of the late David Tivendale of Kirkcaldy, Scotland. Born in Sydney N.S. Sept 13th,1932. She was the daughter of the late Allan and Rita Hillier. She is survived by her children David Tivendale (Christina) and Betty Anne Jones (Brian), her four grandchildren Michael, Chelsea, Ben, Patrick, who she cherished dearly, one great grandson, Tucker, sister June, brother Allan, several nieces and nephews and her longtime friend Ora Dempster. She was predeceased by her brother Len and sister Goodie. Nina worked as assistant manager for many years at Zellers. She was a leader of many employees, while raising two wonderful children. Nina enjoyed music, bowling and playing cards, especially a rowdy game of Tarbish with her family and friends. Special thanks to Nina’s wonderful, dedicated, caregivers, at the Dr. Snow’s Center, for their help and kindness during her time there. The compassion they gave her and her family will never be forgotten. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A private family graveside burial will take place in Sydney, N.S., at a future date.
