Obituary of Eva Daigle
Eva Daigle 96, of Saint John, NB passed away peacefully at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home on May 16, 2018. Born in Richibucto, June 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Guimond and Leona (Doucette) Guimond. Eva was like a second mother to many. She would take you under her wing with assurance it would get better and put you at the top of her daily prayers. She was a kind, gentle soul who always inquired how you and your loved ones were first, of course over a warm cup of tea. She always made time to babble and even in her 97th year could recall details of the past that would leave you in awe. To say she will be missed is an understatement to those that would drop in with sweets, news, or to pass the time. Eva, AKA Grammie, Mom, or Mrs. Daigle, you leave us with an example of how to face life with your chin up, how to stay strong during adversity, have faith and perseverance. She is survived by her son; Marcel (Fern) of Scotchtown, N.B., three brothers; Edgar (Edmee) of Richibucto, Tim (Rosaline) of Richibucto, Ernest (Albertine) of St. Charles, grand-daughters; Liane and Michelle, great-grandchildren; Kylar, Indea, Scotia and Cole. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Evee Daigle; an infant daughter, Jeneane, 4 sisters; Alice Daigle, Rita Leger, Jeanette Mazerolle, Bertha Blanchard and three brothers; Alcide, Dolore, and Frank. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, N.B., with visitation on Thursday, May 17 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 18th at 10 AM at Saint Rose of Lima Church. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will follow at Castle Funeral Home Reception Centre. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
