Obituary of Harold William Mckiel

Harold “Bill” William McKiel passed away peacefully at Kennebec Manor on May 18th 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 30, 1923 to the late Harold and Jeannet ( Dicker) McKiel. He served our country in WWII overseas and became a life-time member of Legion Branch #69. After serving in WWII, Harold worked at Canada Post for 29 years and 10 years at T.S. Simms Brush Factory. He was a long - time member of the Good Shepherd Church, involved in many of the church functions and a member of the Golden Services Club. Bill will be dearly missed by sons; Terrance Robert “Terry” McKiel (Eleanor) of Hants Co., NS, Edgar Randall “Randy” McKiel (Corrine) of Fredericton and Harold Bruce McKiel (Debbie) of Saint John, daughters; Ruby Deborah Diane (Debbie) Anderson (Rod) of Browns Flat, NB and Beverley Lorraine Dorion (Chris) of Saint John, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, two sisters, Jean Knox, and Marie Belcher, both of Ontario, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, wife his wife Sylvia (Theall) McKiel, brothers, George McKiel, and Gerald McKiel, both of Lunenburg N.S. and granddaughter Samantha Lee McKiel. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Tuesday May 22, 2018 from 2PM- 8PM at Castle Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 2:00PM. A reception will be held at Denis Morris Community Center following the service. Donations to Salvation Army, IWK Hospital, Canadian Alzheimer’s society, Kennebec Manor or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.
