Obituary of Christine Karen-Elaine Saumure

Taken too soon, with deep sadness our family announces the passing of Christine Karen- Elaine Saumure, born October 7th, 1964 at Saint John New Brunswick and passed at the Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa Ontario with her beloved brother Brian at her side on Saturday February 6, 2021. She struggled hard and with such grace. She was so young with many health problems. Christine was predeceased by her father Kenneth Saumure, and is survived by her mother, Patricia Everett of Saint John NB, and her two brothers Brian of Stratford Ontario, Kenneth of Calgary Alberta, her daughter Theresa-Marie Ryan, and grandchildren Jonathan and Hannah Boyd and Luke Chevarie. Christine was fond of animals, loved her cat Houdi, and Gaston the fish, and was so dedicated to her companion dog Kiwi who had been trained by professionals and graduated. She started playing her guitar again and joined the Music Healing Veterans' Canada chapter in Ottawa and really enjoyed their musical gatherings. She also participated in The Army Run held in Ottawa. Over the years, Christine has volunteered with many various groups helping others in need, whether young or old. She was a bright star to many along the way. There were so many special friends she treasured, and so very thankful for their support. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Due to Covid-19 a Private Family Only Memorial Service will be held at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Royal Canadian Legion in Barrhaven Ontario, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Humane Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals or to the Music Healing Veterans, Canada Chapter, in Ottawa Ontario.
