Obituary of James Anthony Girouard
It is with heavy hearts the family of James “Jim” Anthony Girouard announce his passing at home on June 18th, 2019. Jim was born on March 6, 1938 to the late James and Mary (Dwyer) Girouard in Saint John, NB. Jim was a longshoreman most of his life, working at the Port. Jim enjoyed spending most of his time fishing and hunting- which he did for most of his life. In later years he liked spending time at Tim Horton’s talking with friends or having a nice cold beer. Jim had a big personality and was a great story teller; he loved telling stories of his big catches and hunts. Jim will be missed by his children; Mike (Shelley) Girouard, John (Tara) Girouard, Joe (Krista) Girouard and Laura (Richard) Girouard-Urgel, sisters; Ethel Beaulieu and Nancy Demcie (Leonard), Hazel Maloney, and Gail Gerawh 11 grandchildren; Ella, Ryan, Haley, Noah, Kyle, Kayla, Rylee, Gabriella, Vanessa, Chloe, and Isabella, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, wife Alice (Burke) Girouard, siblings; Frank, William (Bill), Margaret, and Betty Ann, and brother-in-law Victor Beaulieu. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Friday, June 21st, 2019 at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Centre from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
