Dear Michelle & Family, I don't know if you remember me, Michelle. We worked together for a short time in the nursing home. Although I never had the privilege of meeting your family, I want you to know you have all been on my mind. I am so very sorry for your deep loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. With Love, Mary Rutherford

I remember Pat as one of the good guys. He always treated all us younger friends of Brian as if we were one of his friends too. Back in the day for an older brother to treat you like that was pretty cool. Over the years whenever I bumped into him around town he was genuinely interested in what was going on in my life and was always nice to talk to. Often this happened on Sundays on the short walk down the street after exiting the Cathedral’s 11:45a mass. My heart goes out to your family, close friends and to you Brian, my deepest sympathy for the loss of Pat, your brother & best friend.

The members of our family were very saddened to hear of this tragic news. Pat was taken from his family and friends much too soon. I remember the days while I was a student at St. Vincent's occasionally visiting Matthew and Jean on Cliff Street, while Pat was at St. Malachy's and Brian still in jr. High. Wishing family and friends peace and comfort in the difficult journey ahead.

Pat and Brian were our landlords for 8 years when we lived above the laundromat in 1990. Pat was always so friendly and always made jokes about it being Paul’s turn to cook whenever we came to the Buc for supper. Pat always called our daughter “kiddo” whenever he’d see her with us. He will be sadly missed. Sending our condolences to his family and friends. Paul, Sheryl and Brittany Ross

Brian and family. I've known Pat for about 30 years from when I first started playing on the Buc team in the City Gents. From dressing room banter to wing night to steak and egg Sunday's, Flames games, hockey tourneys in town and in Edmunston. All those great times come to mind and there were a lot of them when you were around Pat. Few people know how much Pat helped me when I needed it most, for that I will always be grateful. My life is better for having known him. He will be missed greatly. So sorry for your loss. Neal, or as Pat called me, Nealy Calgary

Brian and Family, please accept my deepest condolences at this difficult time. I have known Pat for 25 plus years. We socialized at HMCS BRUNSWICKER (where I served with your cousin Dave Cooper) and through the city at many events on many occasion's, . Pat was always supportive of our charitable causes and in turn I enjoyed many a meal and the odd Moose light at the Buccaneer's. I know it's no surprise to you as to the amount of presence Pat had in the Westside community and in fact The greater Saint John area, he will be missed by many. May you take comfort knowing we share in your loss and strength from our prayers. Sincerely, Paul D Smith
