Obituary of Jack Arthur Rogers
Beloved Husband, Brother, Grandfather, and Uncle passed away peacefully at Trinity Court, Rocmaura, Saint John, New Brunswick. Family was central to Jack’s life and he will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn (Mawhinney), his brother Jim (Liz), daughters: Michelle (Lance); Alaine (Arnold); Colleen (Michael); Dianne (David); and Allison (Alex); and his grandchildren Jack and Kane; William and Andrew; Max and Xander; Lauren, Ben, and Sarah; and Nicholas and Mitchell. He is survived by his Aunt Evelyn Speight, his 15 nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Marion (Perry), and his brother Carl. Jack was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick. He started his career with the Hudson’s Bay Company in Calgary, Alberta where his five daughters were born. The family spent many years in western Canada including Saskatoon and Winnipeg. Moving back home, at the end of his career, Jack was a Certified Financial Planner with Investors Group in Saint John. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at Carleton Kirk United Church, 1 Carleton Kirk Place, Saint John, New Brunswick at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 1, 2018 with reception to follow in the Church Hall. At the family’s request there will be no visitation. There will an open house held at the family home, Thursday, May 31, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s memory to the following charities or a charity of your choice: Cardiac Rehab (5B) Heart Centre, Horizon Health; Outreach Program, Loch Lomond Villa; Trinity Court, Rocmaura Nursing Home; Carleton-Kirk Lodge, and Carleton Kirk, United Church.
