Obituary of Willard E Cawley
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Willard E Cawley at Bobby’s Hospice on September 21, 2020. He was born in 1939. He is survived by his loving wife Andra (Walsh) Cawley, sisters; Shirley Cawley, Eva Myers, Marjorie Brown (Jim) and sister in law Doris Ferris. His children Chris Cawley (NB), Juanita Sabourin (NS), Angela Muis (Ont). He had 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His step children Richard Robichaud (Barb), Debbie Robichaud (Chuck), Michael Robichaud (Peter), Andra Kierstead (Don), 6 step grandchildren and 7 great-step grandchildren, who he loved very much, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his twin brother Everette, his parents Gertrude A. Cook (Cawley) and Willard E. Cawley. His son Blake E and brother Jack Ferris, sisters Muriel and Lois. Willard retired as Chief Building Inspector in the city of Kingston, Ont. He was an expert at code rendering and knew them by heart. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy and served on the well-known Haida and designed a navy crest. He was a beautiful artist and taught art. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, rock hounding and spending time with his step children and families here and in Sussex. He was famous for his story telling and lived them all. His memory will live on. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 6:00 PM-8:00PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, September 23, at 1:00PM in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. Interment will be held in Little Lepreau Cemetery on Thursday, September 24, at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers donations in Willard’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Joshua Group, Salvation Army or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com.
