Obituary of Laurence Byers
It is with great sadness, the family of Laurence “Sonny” Byers and husband of Mary “Jane” (Pitre) Byers, would like to announce his passing at home, on September 28, 2017. Laurence was born on November 14, 1952, in Saint John NB to the late Donald and Kathleen (McLeod) Byers. Sonny spent his career years working for Heritage Salmon and working as a HAMM Radio Operator- Handle VE9SW. He was an avid outdoors man, carpenter and he was also the past president of the Lions Club and the Moosehead 8 Ball League. Sonny will be dearly missed by his wife; sons Michael Mahar and his wife Janika of New Jersey, USA, Peter Byers and his wife Jennifer of Quispamsis, NB, Blaine Siddall and his wife Michele of Victoria B.C, Kirk Byers and his wife Mallory of SJ, P.J Vienot and his wife Catherine of SJ; brothers Donald Byers of Lower Kars, sister Doreen Irving of SJ; 14 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). A graveside service will take place on Monday, October 2nd, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Cedar Hill Ext Cemetery. Following the service a reception will be held at the Millidgeville North End Lions club at 11:00 AM.
